A a robust earthquake measuring 7.three magnitude has hit southern Peru.
Peru’s authorities Geophysical Institute mentioned the earthquake was of magnitude 6.7 with its epicentre in Lomas.
There was minor materials injury together with some collapsed roads and folks in Lomas have been evacuated.
Earlier, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Heart warned of “hazardous tsunami waves” for some coasts, saying there was a menace to some coasts of Peru and neighbouring Chile.
However a later message mentioned “there isn’t any longer a tsunami menace from this earthquake” and that the centre hadn’t noticed any tsunami waves.
